New American: UN Seeks New Powers to Remake World at Rio Sustainability Summit

If you think this is just theory by alarmists, you need to read some of what the UN plans to implement and then, carefully remember all those executive orders the UN's front man, Obama, has put in place to take away our rights and even murder people without the benefit of a trial or being charged with anything. Also remember the rush to get Fema camps stocked, Obama giving himself the right to inflict marshal law on us without their being any real emergency, and our children…

YOM HASHOAH

Today Ann Cook and I had the honor of attending Yom Hashoah at Beth El Synagogue.  For those who do not know, Yom Hashoah is the Holocaust Remembrance Day commemoration.  It is an annual event and is  supported by the rabbis, cantors and congregations of the community and the Jewish Federation of Jacksonville.  Different synagogues host the event and this year Beth El was the host.

The purpose of today's program was for a new generation to pledge to never forget.  The members of the…

Gulf of Mexico fish and shrimp with deformities

I linked to this article below regarding deformities found in snapper and shrimp in the Gulf.  I couldn't believe it when I saw the reporting was from Al Jazeera.  By Saturday, I saw many news websites linking to the article, but I was saddened when this disconcerting information is coming not from some American muckraking newspaper or TV news outlet, but from Al Jazeera.  Could it be that our media is owned by big corporations and don't have the will to report the…

TU: Mayor Alvin Brown: Everywhere Man

This is quite interesting and very true.  Mayor Brown has been showing up at events all over town.   We have even seen him pressing the flesh for the last 2 months of cruise ins at the Krystals on Merrill Road.  I thought that somewhat strange as the event draws antique cars from Duval but many participants come from well outside Duval county and the city and even some from south Georgia (and has had cars from well outside our state at times), but I guess there are enough locals…

LOCAL CONTROVERSY CENTERS ON VOTER REGISTRATION - FROM THE PONTE VEDRA RECORDER

Local controversy centers on voter registration

Dear Editor, A rather odd thing happened in Ponte Vedra recently — at least odd for Ponte Vedra.

Four women went to the post office to meet with the current postmaster and discuss plans for registering voters prior to the upcoming elections.

Although we may have…

Ohio Teacher of the Year Fired for the Bible on His Desk Brings Case to Ohio Supreme Court 21 April 2012

By Bill Korach This morning, I spoke with John Freshwater, a teacher of 23 years who was fired from the Mt. Vernon, Ohio high school because he had a Bible on his desk. Freshwater, married for 32 years is a proud father of three; a son who graduated from the United States Military Academy, a [...]…

CNS News: Pelosi: Amend the First Amendment

To say I literally can't stand this woman might be an understatement, but for her to be involved in anything about rewriting the constitution or anyone of her ilk touching our founding documents, makes me ill.  I guess we have to hope folks are smarter than they were when they approved the 16th amendment by being tricked into believing the fairy tale they were told about the addition of the 16th amendment (ie  it was only going to be a very small amount and it was good for the…

The Fiscal Times: Obama Risks $100 Billion If Catholic Hospitals Close

Like everything else this administration does that is totally based on personal ideology and not based on common sense, the constitution or reality, this mandate to make people violate their religious beliefs will have a profound impact on our health care system when the Catholic church refuses to commit a mortal sin by bending to this Godless administration in Washington (my personal opinion).

In a nutshell, we would love the following according…

Election 2012 Group Meeting 4-20-12

4-20-12   With 14 members in attendance we briefly reviewed our purpose (winning in 2012!), then we seperated into 3 subgroups focussing on these key areas: 1) voter registration/GOTV/Political Gravity; 2) poll watchers/poll workers; 3) voter fraud/True the Vote.  After identifying and prioritizing tasks for these areas the subgroups came together to share their "plan of attack" and to allow the group as a whole to give imput.  The subgroups have various things to think about and do this…

Happy 4/20!!

Hey all you freedom loving libertarians, today is the day to celebrate! It is time we all learn to love to this day and demand its freedom.

I give you  the latest salvo in the drug war, a war begun forty years ago and guess what, we lost.It is unwinnable because it is immoral and poorly thought out. Why are we letting the bad guys make all the money?

See ya at the flagpole.…

TU: Jacksonville could face federal lawsuit over discrimination in firefighter promotion tests

I don't think this ever ends.  Unless the results instead of the opportunity are equal, they aren't going to be happy.  You can't make someone be good at their job............they have to want to excell and should not be given a promotion unless they do as people's lives depend on them being every bit as good as they should be at every level.  This garbage is insane when it comes to firemen and policemen.  The situations they deal with are at another whole level and just good…

TU: City of Jacksonville keeping its fuel costs under budget

This appears to be good news when few things in the city are.  I am happy to see that those who use the fuel and track it are keeping the amount used very much omnipresent.

TU: Gov. Rick Scott picks members for 'Stand Your Ground' task force

This is definitely something we all need to watch.  This is not a bad law; it allows us to take action to protect ourselves if we feel someone is trying to inflict serious bodily harm.  No one should be forced to do nothing or be charged with a crime for protecting themselves from someone trying to kill them or inflict serious bodily harm.  That's my opinion, what's yours?…

TU: Jacksonville councilman talks to FDOT about help keeping ferry running

This is an update to let everyone know what is going on with the Mayport ferry.  Mr. Gulliford seems to be staying right on top of this issue, and I hope he makes some headway with saving the ferry until a private entity can be found to take it over.

TU: Clay School Board chairwoman: Proposal could ease tensions over school prayer

It would appear a workable solution has been found to this problem in Clay County.  It seems a shame that a small group of folks who are against religion or at least appear to be stopping another group from practicing their freedom of religion.  I truly do not believe our religious freedom was ever meant to have some of the constraints on it that non religious zeolots which to impose on this issue.  What's your opinion?…

TU: Not all feel welcome to Jacksonville mayor's interfaith breakfast

This is much ado about nothing, but it was interesting to see all the discussion about what the constitution actually said about religion and the forced establishment of same.  Mayor Brown from my perspective has done nothing wrong at all, and kados to him for a "sold out house".  Let those who are not happy about this stay home..............and since there aren't any seats left for them anyway, they shouldn't worry about…

Front Porch: Barack Obama Funds Kenyan “Economic Opportunities” As Americans Lose Jobs

I did a double take too!  This is unreal.  So many Americans don't have jobs and he is down in Kenya helping their economy.............and trying to improve things.  I am having a hard time being charitable about this, since we have folks who have lost their homes, their jobs, in some cases, their families and with gas prices, if they still have a job and home, it is getting harder and harder to just put food on the table.  And his highness is doing this!…

4-19-12 Lunch Bunch

4-19-12  Today's "lunch bunch" began with Andy describing his experience of setting up a table to register voters at the Ramona Flea Market this past Saturday.  Don't worry, he knows "the Rules" about not mentioning candidates or promoting "a particular Party"!  He found that interested and "like-minded" people were friendly and the others just stayed away.  Of interest is that several people mentioned to him that they had already sent in a registration to register Republican but have not…

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
