Florida's Senator Marco Rubio calls out President Obama for his speech yesterday where he slammed the American people for being successful. As Senator Rubio stated, "this is class warfare."
While our countrymen are hurting and jobs are few, we have a President who believes he can "come out swinging" at the American people instead of working to fix the problem.
Thank you Senator Rubio for your leadership today. You can view his speech here or read his…

To my fellow tea party members of Duval County. This is the email I wrote to the City Council members. Please take a moment and write, call or visit your City Council Member prior to next Tuesday night. This will be the last night for voting on major bills before them - which have been rushed through at a fast and furious speed. There are Pension bills, Transportation bills, Bank-moving bills, and many more which can be found at: …

Tales from LaHood
You might remember a song from a few years ago by Bill Engvall, called "Here's Your Sign!" He could add a verse or two about the Department of Transportation. While most Americans are tightening their belts, a delegation from DOT was shopping for new ones during a 17-day jaunt to photograph billboards. The 12-member delegation, which is part of the International Scam Scan Program (ISP), is said to cost somewhere in the…

Pensions in the News
We have two different government pension stories to highlight here. So let’s start in San Francisco, where the average city government retiree earns an annual pension of $46,272. If you worked 30 years in city government, that figure looks more like $76,981. Those retiring from the Police Department are looking at $95,016, while the Police Chief gets a $264,000 annual pension. Fire Department retirees:…

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there.
For those of you who get to spend the day with your dad, give him an extra hug on behalf of us who don’t have our father with us anymore. Enjoy every moment and spend a few extra with him if you can.
My dad passed away in 2004 and he’s spent the last 7…

California is known for their large fires that destroy forests and homes at least once a year during “Fire Season”. I question why the heck people would live in California. Every year it seems to be the same story yet people still build and develop in areas that are prone to fires. Californians are…

It was one of those mornings. I was awakened by the sound of thunder and flashes of lightning piercing the darkness of the room. It was 4:30 and I didn’t want to get up. As I laid there watching the window light up and the booming sounds of thunder, I was taken back to my childhood. …

I am high in the sky flying home from New Hampshire after last night's Presidential debate. What a wonderful experience it was for me personally and even more so for the tea party members.
Last night we saw a renewed sense of love for America and the values we stand for. Prior to the event starting at 8:00 we had a pre-program session where we learned how the evening would work with the production team. We also were welcomed to the debate by the university President and heard…

I got off the plane, picked up my bag and stepped outside to meet up with my ride to the hotel. I was not expecting the blast of cold air that hit me and immediately caused shivers that served as the opening conversation with the driver.
Reminder to self...check the weather before your journey and throw a sweater in your bag just in case. Always be PREPARED.
I arrived in Manchester, New Hampshire for tomorrow night's Presidential Debate. Florida will be the host…

It’s 4:00 AM and after tossing and turning since 3:15, I finally could not take it anymore. I quietly got out of bed and closed the door to the bedroom so my husband could sleep. My head had been filled with headlines and they were beginning to run into each other creating confusion and chaos. Much like what is happening in our world today.
The biggest headline of the last few days…

Today is Grace Nealis’ birthday. Grace is the wife of Dr. James Nealis.
Dr. Nealis was a great supporter of the First Coast Tea Party and was the first speaker at our first tea party on February 27th. He had a radio show titled “Brainstorm” which was heard on WOKV on Saturday afternoons.
Dr. Nealis passed away suddenly last month. His passing was noted on our website and many of us attended his funeral. He was a great man and we miss him…
