Hope everyone will do as Bill Gulliford suggests and write to your representatives about the Mayport Ferry. My personal position is that this really is a fight worth having as the Mayport Ferry is part of the culture and history of Mayport and should be saved. If you feel the same way, please write to your elected officials and let them know.
Supporters seek more people to get involved to save service…

This is supposedly the video of the 5 minutes that got the judge fired. After watching it, think about the republican party trying to choose another establishment person to come in if Romney, their only choice for the job, does not win. If that happens, wouldn't the judge be right in what he said...................no wonder folks would not like what the judge said, would they. The truth perhaps! What do you think..........and it does require…

Obama doesn't appear to be quite as welcome in Orange County as he might have been in 2007 and 08? That's just may take though.

CORONA DEL MAR- Hundreds of protesters lined Pacific Coast Highway Thursday morning to greet President Barack Obama who was visiting Newport Beach for a campaign fundraiser. Most of the attendees awaited the arrival of the president in protest though a number of pro-Obama…

So, we had about a half a month when the unemployment dropped to 8.3% after subtracting 1.3 million people who had not looked for work in the previous 4 weeks prior to the report, and now it is up to 9% again and according to other articles is expected to go to 10% by late spring/early summer.

"We are all Catholics now" is a movement started by Glenn Beck, and the details are as follows with recommendations about actions to take (either by phone or Email to your senators and representatives).
There is a raising awareness on the persecution of Catholics, at this time, by the Obama administration, and a mandate which would force Catholic organizations to pay for birth control, the morning after pill and the like which based on the teaching…

More news about one of the "great" people the Obama administration chose to run a very large federal department that wields an unbelievable amount of power. This is absolutely sick and disgusting.

This is what is happening everywhere these days, and in some places it is worse than others. It is worrisome for the taxpayers in Duval county however, since it would appear tax revenues will not meet the bills (including the give away programs and those programs the city should not even be involved in...........hmmmmm).

This is an ongoing issue that we have been watching for the last 3 days and Mr. Hannan's expose' will be in the Sunday Times Union for those who want more details. If you will go to the link for the article, there is also a video there done by Mr. Hannan.
Where my concern lies is that these folks basically broke the law and didn't tell the employer they were doing so which left us liable for any one who got hurt, killed or any accident of any…

An update on the JTA investigation by Times Union reporter Larry Hannan. We owe him and the Times Union a big thank you for taking it upon themselves to do what we expect our media to do............investigate where they feel a problem might exist, and then, shine a light on problems and make the information available to the public. Mr. Hannan has done a wonderful service to the public. Please note the results of the investigation will be published in the Sunday paper, so you…

This is probably going to be a fight all the way, but I am glad to see the congress taking it on. It is a fight worth having and hopefully, the congress will prevail in this matter, since Obama voted "not present" on it.
House lawmakers on Thursday approved a plan to authorize the Keystone XL pipeline and expand drilling offshore and in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

This should be a real eye opener. The CBO report should be on every news channel, but I suspect you won't see it or what it indicates. I have provided a link to the report, and to better understand unemployment, if you have time, you might read it through (it isn't all that long or complicated).
The rate of unemployment in the United States has exceeded 8 percent since February 2009, making the past three years the longest stretch…

Actually, the mayor is better off letting folks know who paid and what was paid before it is asked for..........it stops people from imagining something is happening that isn't, and as the mayor indicted, it is transparency!

This is something that may well be worth taking some action on as I remember Ms Rhee being called in by Governor Scott. The bill number is included, and it is still in committee, so you have an opportunity to read the bill and weigh in should you choose to do so.

This one I won't make a judgement call on as I don't have children in school, but it somehow doesn't sound like a good way to do things to me either. Better be aware this may be what they have to do in the future though.

I am afraid I have to agree with one of the comments on this story. We ask these folks to take pay cut after pay cut while giving millions to the banks and the Jaquars (plus we don't hold them to the things they are supposed to pay for and the taxpayers end up footing the bill). These guys at least provide a city service and this somehow just does not seem right???

I heard something about this on the radio this morning, and sure enough, the TU also has info about it. How does someone with a violent crime record or drunk driving or multiple driving infractions stay on as a JTA bus driver? This is not evidence of anyone doing a good job choosing and checking backgrounds of potential hires or even for those who currently are employed by JTA. No one who has a history of violent behavior should be driving a city bus! Please read the article…

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
