One of our very own came up with a great idea. RJ in our tea party is a member of a union and he said if you live within 12 hours of DC they will pay for your transportation. He suggested you tell them we have 10-15 people going and we could get a free trip to DC!!

After yesterday's city council meeting all of us were frustrated and mad as heck. As we stated yesterday, there are many complex parts to the issues at hand.

I have just returned from the City Council meeting where they voted to raise our property taxes again for the second time in two years.

This was not a surprise. We saw it coming and we heard some disturbing comments over the weeked which we decided to hold back. We held them back because we wanted to see if the council members would prove those statements wrong. They didn't.

Yesterday was a beautiful day in DC. The weather was remarkable and the sky was as blue as it was on the day terrorists attacked us on 9/11. My favorite speech at the 9/11 Memorial service yesterday in front of the Washington Monument, was from a retired Lieutenant of the New York Fire Department. He told stories about some of his men who died that day. The stories were moving because they were personal and real and the people were real too! He reminisced about their lives, their career…

We are in DC and the feeling in the air is very different than it was last year.

Last year we were not sure if we should "expose" ourselves as tea party members because no one really knew if anyone else would show up. Last year, people in the hotel elevator were quiet and nice and they kept their "tea party tee shirts" covered up.
