Mayor Race

I hope FCTP is right in endorsing Mike Hogan. But why does he decline to answer whether he will not accept Mayor Pension ? How will he reform pension system to 401k -style system even for new city employees if he can't commit himself to it ? It will not cut his expect current pension. City Pensions will be one of the largest expenses in the next 10, 20, 50 years.

The 54 congressmen who held their ground and voted NO on the most recent CR

Wired: Man With 4th Amendment Written on Chest Sues Over Airport Arrest

I am especially proud of this young man.  Aaron Tobey is 21 years old and when asked by TSA to remove his shirt, he had what is said to be an abbriated version of the 4th amendment written on his chest in magic marker.

NY Times: E.P.A. Proposes New Emission Standards for Power Plants

Newsmax: Obama Fails on Education Reform

Interesting as the No Child Left Behind was a move back to phonics (and was made by Bush who was afraid to call it what it was for fear it would be seen as a conservative move and bring down the rath of our oh so liberal teachers).  This program teaches children to read using phonics and really is invaluable if we want young people who can actually read.  The liberal method that has been used the last 40 years has been an abyssmal failure.  Interesting article as Obama is apparantly gutting…
